With Halloween finally here, now is a better time than ever to come up with a fun Halloween themed list. So, for everyone’s favorite candy-filled, glutton-fest holiday, Boston Games Examiner has come up with a Top 5 list of Halloween themed Magic: The Gathering cards.
Who knows, maybe you’ll be inspired to play some of these cards at your local Friday Night Magic. Some of these cards are old and some are new. Either way, have fun and remember to stay safe!
Scroll down for the list and then, in the comment section, let others know what your favorite Halloween themed card is. Did you agree with anything on the list? There is a good chance something didn’t make the list. Don’t forget, this is a Top 5. You can only fit five cards on here. What was missed? Sound off below.
5. Lake of the Dead
There is a pretty good argument that this may be the source of all things dead. It is called Lake of the Dead for a reason. In one quick move this has the ability to cast everyone’s favorite (but left off the list) Sengir Vampire. Don’t forget to tap that swamp for mana before sacrificing it to the Lake!
4. Bad Moon
The ultimate Black enchantment. When the moon comes out in full, you know you’re in trouble. Having one of these in play can be quite troublesome playing against it, but imagine if someone has four of them in play at the same time?! No thank you.
3. BMF – Right
He’s so big, he takes up two cards! There was only room to fit one picture, too! The most difficult feature of this card is that you need both pieces at the same time in order to cast him. However, once you’ve managed to get him onto the battlefield, there is very little that can stand in his way. It’s a 99/99 that can only be blocked by three or more creatures. Good luck! Better make sure you have health insurance.
2. Pack Rat
Of course this little critter was going to make the list. When Pack Ray made its debut, it proved itself to be a powerhouse in Draft formats. Soon enough, someone had the bright idea, “Hey! If it’s so good in Draft, it has to be decent in Standard, right?” Thus began it’s reign of terror until it rotated out of the format. Now it’s terrorizing players in Modern. It’s highly recommended that you burn it as soon as you see it.
1. All Hallow;s Eve
Sitting at number one is the most obvious card to make the list. Keeping up with the theme, it brings creatures back from the dead for both players. So make sure to dump those ridiculously over-costed creatures into your graveyard, then watch and revel as they come back into play while your opponent quakes with fear.
