The year is half over. If you made a resolution to be more active, now’s the time to get moving. Fortunately, there are plenty of fitness events in the Treasure Valley this July. Here’s a list to help you plan.
Friday, July 4
The Tutu Run The highlight of Independence Day is usually fireworks. So why not get moving that morning in this patriotic event taking place at Veterans Memorial Park. You can choose from 10K and 5K distances, and there’s even a kids’ fun run. Oh yeah, and you’ll want to wear a tutu. Prizes will be given at random to folks wearing tutus or their military uniform. Saturday, July 12
Fit for Life Half Marathon This race starts at Hawks Stadium and features a home plate finish. If a half marathon is too challenging, you can choose a 5K or 10K course. The 7:30 a.m. start means you’ll have a chance to beat the heat. For more information, click on this link.
Y-Not Tri and Y-Not Swim If you’d like to try a triathlon, the Treasure Valley YMCA has the perfect event for you. You can choose from three separate courses, with varied lengths for swimming, biking and running. And new this year is the Y-Not Swim, an open water swim in Quinn’s Pond.
