A UPS worker kicks an expensive package out the delivery place door, and the unprofessional act is all caught on video. A pressure gauge worth over $12,000 was said to be within the box, and the footage of the incident has gone viral online in less than a week. AOL News reveals this Friday, October 31, 2014, that the ignorant worker responsible for booting the pricey merchandise is said to possibly have corrective action taken against him for his service.
Because it is certainly not part of company policy, when a UPS worker kicks an expensive package and gets his unjust act recorded on video, there’s definite trouble ahead for him. As featured in the above clip, a man can be seen booting a $12,000 pressure gauge intended to help measure pipeline contents out the door of a New York establishment. Rather than handling the costly product with care or calling for assistance, the employee was seen by CCTV cameras as roughly rolling it away.
The owner of East Hill Instruments, Ray Martel, has apparently seen the poor treatment of the heavy package and was “shocked” to witness that such a thing occurred. He said that the ignorant worker paid no heed to the item within the box and might have easily damaged or broken it.
“This guy just basically threw the thing out the door … If he needed help, he could have just asked,” Martel shared with a local media outlet in a statement.
A receptionist at East Hill Instruments reportedly witnessed the UPS worker kicking the expensive package without any heed to its fragile nature, and later told her boss of the incident. In order to support her statements, she said that Martel should take a look at the video footage to show how rough its handling was. According to the owner, the pressure gauge instrument was being returned to client. The condition of the $12,000 product is unknown.
According to News Oxy, news of this outrageous worker and his method of “delivery” for the item quickly reached UPS officials. After the video clip was presented to them, UPS was said to offer a formal apology regarding the incident. They stated that the man’s treatment of the box was wrong and not following their company’s policy, which is to have all “drivers are trained to handle every package with care.”
Since then, UPS has also added that they are conducting an investigation into the matter and are going to determine whether the $12,000 pressure gauge was indeed damaged by the worker’s ignorant shipping of the instrument. UPS noted that corrective action will be implemented in this particular case if deemed necessary.
“This is a part of the overall emphasis we place on providing excellent service to our customers. UPS does not condone this specific driver’s behavior.”
Do you have any reaction to the “UPS worker kicks expensive package” video? The clip has already been seen thousands of times in less than a week on YouTube and other media sharing sites, as well as prompted numerous comments from viewers. The source site concludes by saying that another UPS worker is accused this October of stealing a box containing a ring worth $160,000 and trading it for some marijuana. That particular employee was fired by UPS after they learned he was guilty of the crime.
