Who doesn’t enjoy being entertained by music, or taking in the educational opportunities afforded by quality colt starting clinics? What if we told you that you can combine the two, at one lovely nearby location, on one special night?
Corner Canyon equestrian center, located near the east bench of Draper, Utah (just south of Salt Lake City), will be hosting a unique combined clinic by respected Vaquero-style horseman Ricky Quinn (a favorite of many skilled western riders and trainers across the mountain states) followed by an autumn evening concert with acclaimed singer/songwriter (and horsewoman) Juni Fisher, on Wednesday, October 1.
For those who haven’t scheduled their schooling session at Grantsville’s Pegasus Event Center that night (in preparation for next weekend’s Extreme Horseman’s Challenge), you’re all invited to head on down to this friendly south-end barn and watch these very talented professionals showcase their very impressive skills. All those wishing to attend are asked to simply RSVP before the event takes place on October 1. The cost is just $30 per person. We recommend visiting the Corner Canyon Facebook page to learn more or to make your personal reservation.
Want to learn more about musician Juni Fisher? Visit her website to see her bio, enjoy a fun selection of photographs, and find the schedule for her upcoming concert appearances.
Clinician and trainer Ricky Quinn also has an informative website, chock full of information that gives you a personal glimpse at his horsemanship philosophies and background, wonderful, engaging photos and a look into his family life. You can even purchase some of his quality (yet affordable) training equipment or tack online!
Taking a mid-week break from the usual hectic tasks and over-scheduled routines is such a refreshing way to recharge! Why not treat yourself to this wonderful, and not too pricey, concert/clinic combo? The colt starting clinic begins at 5:00 pm, with the concert to follow at 7. Invite a friend, or head out on your own and make new friends at Corner Canyon. This is a very welcoming venue that’s always happy to meet some new horse-friendly faces.
If you’d like to learn more about the boarding, horse training and riding lessons offered at Corner Canyon equestrian center, we recommend visiting the stable’s Facebook page. This is a wonderful establishment, uniquely welcoming to riders of most any discipline, English or Western. Set adjacent to the Draper-area network of scenic trails, boarders can easily ride off site into the neighboring hillside, or meander safely through the surrounding neighborhoods.
The facility is renowned for the utmost quality care, with regular cleaning, reliable feeding schedules, attentive and knowledgeable professional management and a convivial environment of equestrian camaraderie! There’s a nice indoor arena and two outdoor riding arenas, as well as round pen and turn out paddocks. You can take lessons on site for western riding or English (hunt seat and jumping) and the stable regularly brings in clinicians (such as Ricky Quinn and Paul Dietz) to enhance their boarders’ skills and horsemanship knowledge.
Trot on down to Draper on Wednesday evening (October 1, 2014) to watch the horsemanship skills of vaquero Ricky Quinn, listen to the delightful tunes of Juni Fisher, and learn about all Corner Canyon Equestrian Center has to offer.
