Collegiate men of stature of every shade lounged around The James Hotel, Soho rooftop before a clear blue pool yesterday, mirroring a slight archipelago feel, if you took a close enough look. It certainly didn’t feel like NYC, as palm leaves, amidst broad, wooden fixtures perfectly accented the clear direction for Vera Largo’s 2015 Spring Launch.
For those who don’t know, this line is a coastal men’s apparel brand, which was deep-seated on the Gulf of Beaumont, Texas. As the sea is embedded in the fabric of this brand, it emanates going after what makes you feel great in life, and is made to feel better. During the event it was hard not to notice the practicality, versatility and comfortability in the details.
The unique production debuted the classic American colors: red, blue and white. For those looking to lounge around in the sun in comfortable apparel, there were cuffed ankle pants with water encrusted print, paired with a top of watercolor-like palm trees and simple white low sneakers, resembling the old classic, Pro-Keds. There were also arrangements for lovers of detail, with a light, round collar, men’s jacket bearing the Vera Largo insignia, paired with a standard button-up and knee-length shorts.
The evening didn’t end without a musical touch from Pharell’s protege Cris Cab, who rocked the venue with his spot on reggae infused rhythm and rich, round voice. Attendees moved to selections like his rendition of Of Monsters And Men’s “Little Talks,” and his original “The Sun is Gonna Rise Again.

Talented musician Cristian Cabrerizo also known as Cris Cab brought down the house with reggae inspired style and tunes. Most people know him for his hit “Liar Liar.”
