The Vision Center is a, 501c3 non-profit organization that has, newly, launched in the Bay Area, to provide children, youth, and adults with training programs and activities, that promotes personal growth and self-development disciplines. The Vision Center is a 14,000 square foot creative arts, technology, business development, music, tutoring, and media facility for the community in San Jose, California. “The motivation and passion for operating the Vision Center is simple; I want to reach out to the youth in our community and provide training and instruction that help the kids take charge of their futures. Sometimes all the young people need is just a little extra-push and encouragement, to help them prepare to reach their life’s goal.” (Executive Director, Calvin Cook, Vision Center, Incorporated)
Executive Director Cook is no stranger to developing, launching, and spearheading programs for under-served people groups. He has a track record that stretches back more than 20 years of feeding the homeless, providing clothing for the poor, to working with San Jose elected officials and the San Jose Police Department. Director Cook has opened the Vision Center doors for the community to schedule a tour, and to learn more about the vision of the center. San Jose mayoral candidate Sam Liccardo, and County Supervisor Cindy Chavez have both toured the facility within the last month. Although the Vision Center, is in start-up mode and pursuing resources from public donations, grant submissions, private and public business support, and Indiegogo crowdfunding; it has not stopped Executive Cook from launching the first round of music classes for the community’s youth and kids.
The Vision Center welcomes community supporters and volunteers in giving back. Technology and business trainers, creative artists, music trainers, television and audio production experts, health awareness and fitness gurus, are needed supporters and volunteers.
