If you are looking to enjoy art this weekend, this may be the event for you. Watercolor: Collective Visions is an collective showing of the work of very talented local artists. “The Ellen Kayrod Gallery presents their annual Inter-generational exhibition, the theme ‘Watercolor: Collective Visions’ curated by Linda Mendelson.
“There are 16 artists and 36 watercolors in the show,” Linda Mendelson.
The exhibit will feature the following Artists;
Taurus Burns, Marianne Audrey Burrows, Janet Hamrick, Jim Hittinger, Jay Knapp, Matt Lewis, Stephen Magsig, Julia Maiuri, Donald Mendelson, Linda Mendelson, Risa Mendelson, Jim Nawara. Lucille Nawara, Nicole Sklar, Debra Slavin-Glazer, Joey Sulaica.

The following is from Linda Mendelson’s official Bio.
“Linda Mendelson has been a highly respected and influential college teacher of painting, design, color theory and drawing for more than thirty five years. Linda had taught watercolor and color design at Wayne State University in Detroit for fifteen years. Afterwards, she was an Associate Professor at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit where she had taught Painting (oil and watercolor), Design (color, mixed media, 2D, 3D) and English (Imaging:Visual Verbal Crossovers) for another fifteen years. Ms. Mendelson taught Drawing, Painting and Design at the University of Michigan -Dearborn for six years where she had developed a Fine Arts Program. She has also served on the faculty of the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center in Birmingham, Michigan.
Linda was raised and educated in Detroit. She attended Wayne State University where she received a BFA Degree in 1967 and a Masters in painting in 1969 while on a Graduate Professional Scholarship. Her paintings and drawings have been included in more than one hundred and fifty exhibitions in Michigan, including shows at the Detroit Institute of Arts and various major museums throughout the state. Her works have also been represented in numerous national painting and drawing exhibitions, including shows in Indiana, Utah, North Dakota, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Texas, Louisiana, Arizona and Oklahoma, among others.” – read more
