On Friday, September 26, 2014, it’s Craig Carter and the Hurricane featuring Billy Sciore at the Blackthorn Public House, 402 Turnpike Street in South Easton. The band will feature Billy Sciore on guitar and vocals, George Blier on bass and vocals and Doug Parks on drums who will cover some of your favorite classic rock songs.
An original independent folk rock and pop recording band from Somerville, American Beauties will be performing on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Paradise Cafe, 565 High Street in Dedham. The music is reminiscent of the Los Angeles, San Francisco, and East Coast folk rock bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s and mixes both contemporary and roots influences.
Their debut record “Too Worn To Mend,” was independently released in October 2012. The album was recorded at Ice Station Zebra in Medford, Massachusetts by Grammy award winning engineer Ducky Carlisle. Kevin Michael, best known for being the lead singer of a Poison Tribute Band called , “Fallen Angel”, will be doing an acoustic show at The Jockey Club, 115 State Highway, Rt. 44, Raynham on Friday, September 26, 2014. Michael will be appearing with “Trick’d out” a Cheap Trick tribute out of the Boston area and will be playing some old school covers and songs from Poison.
Saturday, September 27, 2014, it’s day #1 of the Second Annual Rat Beach Party at the Red Parrot, 1 Hull Shore Drive in Hull. There will be 50 former Kenmore Square Rat bands and combinations of musicians from Rat bands who will will performing over a two day period starting on Saturday from noon till close through Sunday, September 28, 2014, noon to close. The event is to raise money for The Rat Musicians Scholarship Fund. Two stages of bands will be set up with bands functioning simultaneously. It will be the Mother of All Rock n’ Roll Parties! This weekend, Saturday, September 27, 2014, it’s the Rock and Roll Throwdown Tribute Series featuring two bands, Dirty Deeds an AC/DC tribute band. The C Note, 159 Nantasket Ave in Hull has Vinal Tap rocking Nantasket Beach on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Vinal Tap was formed in 2009 when the local elementary school was having a fundraiser and asked parents to provide the musical entertainment. The school was Vinal Elementary School, and the event was “Vinalpalooza”. So in an ode to the cause, the band was named Vinal Tap. The band is: Art Creel on vocals, Steve Lombardo on keyboards, Andy Wiemeyer on bass, Scott St. John on guitar and Paul Francis on drums.
