ThorSport Racing continues to show the way in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship points standings, with ThorSport drivers Matt Crafton and Johnny Sauter holding down the top-two spots. Crafton finished third Saturday night at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, with Darrell Wallace Jr., who finished second, the only other full-time series driver ahead of him in second. The race was won by part-time driver Erik Jones.
Sauter finished outside the top-10 in 14th, and as a result, lost ground to his teammate in the standings. Sauter left Vegas still in second but 19 points behind Crafton.
After missing some races, Ron Hornaday returned at Vegas and remained in the top-10 of the standings with a sizable cushion both in front of him and behind him in the standings. He still has at least one more race with NTS Motorsports, but if that’s it for the remainder of the season for Hornaday, he may wind up getting passed by Mason Mingus for the 10th spot. Mingus is currently 11th in points, 57 points outside the top-10.

The No. 88 ThorSport Racing Toyota team continues to be the front-runner in the Camping World Truck Series owner points standings, but part-time driver Jones helped the No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota team draw closer. With Jones’ win, the No. 51 team left Las Vegas Motor Speedway only three points out of the lead.
The No. 51 team is the meat in a ThorSport Racing sandwich, so to speak, as the No. 98 ThorSport Toyota is third in points. The No. 98 lost ground on the top-two with Sauter’s 14th-place finish at LVMS.
