Libertarian Gubernatorial Candidate Adrian Wyllie, who has recently received an enormous amount of positive press coverage, officially announced on Tuesday morning, July 29, that his campaign will take a month-long tour of craft breweries across the state of Florida throughout the month of August. The tour will start at the Fort Myers Brewing Company in Fort Myers, Fla, on Friday, August 1, and wrap up at McGuire’s Irish Pub in Pensacola, Fla. on Saturday, August 30. Increasing name recognition and supporting small businesses dual goals of tour
The two main goals of Wyllie’s month-long craft brewery tour across the state of Florida are to increase the Libertarian Gubernatorial Candidate’s name recognition, and to support the small breweries who were forced to fight legislation in the Florida State Senate last legislative session which would have required craft breweries to sell their beers to bigger corporations, with almost all of the profit left with the larger breweries.
Depending on the political polling source used, Adrian Wyllie receives between 10 and 20 percent support among Florida voters. However, even with the increased press coverage this month, a large majority of Floridians still are unaware of him and his candidacy for governor this November. With both the incumbent Republican Rick Scott and the currently Democratic challenger Charlie Crist earning higher unfavorable than favorable ratings, added to the fact the majority of Floridians admit neither of the establishment candidates can be trusted. For these reasons, Wyllie has an outstanding opportunity to meet and greet thousands of Floridians throughout the month of August on the tour and win over their trust. As more voters across the Sunshine State learn about Wyllie and his Campaign for Governor, both name recognition and support will increase leading up to Election Day.
Another important aspect of the craft brewery tour is to show support for the smaller breweries the supposedly “limited government” Republicans tried to force out of business thanks to the large campaign contributions given to many of the Republican State Senators. Though the legislation passed the Florida State Senate by a large margin, enough grassroots opposition to the bill from across the Sunshine State that the Florida State House declined to vote on the bill, allowing the legislation to die.
